social work

The activities carried out by this department are permanent: they are applied on an ongoing basis due to the fact that Home currently shelters 72 minors.

Admission: Any parent or guardian seeking admission of a child into our home must first arrange a meeting with our staff. We welcome applications for admission Monday through Friday. Children must be between the ages of 2 months and 8 years old , irrespective of sex. All children seeking admission much have been orphaned, neglected, or at emotional or physical risk.

The following documents are required for admission and must be address to the Santa Martha:

  • A Social Report
  • Psychological Evaluation Report
  • Legal Medical Certificate
  • School Certificate Report Card
  • Photocopy of the Parent or Legal Guardian's ID card

Interviews: We hold admissions interviews Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Interviews are conducted by our multidisciplinary team. If ineligible for admission, we are happy to refer you to other homes.

Case Evaluation: We require all necessary documents listed above before evaluating each case. We also require an interview with the child in addition to his or her parent or guardian. We aim to first exhaust all available Child Protection resources available before admitting a child so that he or she may remain with their family.

Technical Team Meeting: Our technical team meets twice a week to discuss the activities and programs of the orphanage. We also evaluate the case files and pending applications. All decisions are based on the best interests of the child and whether the casa hogar can accommodate new children.
